Trust Development Foundation (TDF) is an independent, apolitical, nonprofit organization that fosters trust, peace, civic engagement, dialogue and tolerance in society through different initiatives, to bring a positive change in the society. TDF envisions to reach the unreached and serve the underserved through development projects in remote areas of Azad Kashmir in general and in and around union council Tain/ Kahndi belt. Major areas of work encompasses healthcare, education, clean & green Kashmir, plantation & grafting, youth career counseling, sports, women empowerment, entrepreneurship, social transformation and capacity building.

The founder and patron-in-chief of the foundation, Mr. Shahid Khan is a symbol of human service, regionally known social worker, and a philanthropist. Khan began his major philanthropic efforts in 1998, when he formed the first ever free Communication Club, which focused on public speaking, improving communication and leadership skills. It was the first of its kind in the region where participants met to practice, learn, grow, mentor and share their ideas. In 2005, Khan launched a cellular based network known as the knowledge sharing club (KSC), well before the inception of social media. Later on, he initiated another virtual group (GPS) on Facebook and grouped the like minded social activists on one platform. He continued his journey of philanthropy the next decade and transitioned and renamed all his endeavors into a new nonprofit, tilted today as TDF. The friends pledged their overwhelming support and from this modest beginning the grain of TDF was sowed. It began to germinate as meager contributions started coming from friends, dear & near ones and family members. Since, numerous initiatives have been successfully launched and accomplished from this platform.
