Trust Development Foundation (TDF): Initiative For Change
The Trust Development Foundation (TDF) is an independent, apolitical, nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering trust, peace, dialogue, civic engagement, and tolerance within society. Through diverse initiatives, TDF aims to catalyze positive societal change, especially by addressing the needs of underserved and remote communities in Azad Kashmir, with a particular focus on the union council Tain/Kahndi belt.
THE VISIONARY BEHIND TDF:
Mr. Shahid Khan, TDF’s founder and patron-in-chief, is widely recognized as a humanitarian, philanthropist, and social reformer. His journey in philanthropy began in 1998 with the establishment of the first free Communication Club, designed to enhance public speaking, leadership, and communication skills. This groundbreaking initiative became a platform for learning, mentoring, and idea-sharing in the region.
In 2005, Mr. Khan pioneered the Knowledge Sharing Club (KSC), a cellular-based network launched well before the advent of modern social media. This was followed by the creation of the Global Philanthropy Society (GPS) on Facebook, uniting like-minded social activists on a single virtual platform.
Building on decades of philanthropic success, Mr. Khan consolidated these efforts under the umbrella of the TDF. Supported by friends, family, and dedicated volunteers, the foundation flourished, transforming modest contributions into impactful projects.
